Last week there was some hope that Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre could be ready to play in Week 16 but it doesn't look like that'll happen. Favre suffered a concussion last week and has yet to pass his initial tests in order to be cleared to play on Tuesday when the Vikings play the Eagles.
Brett Favre’s Injury Leaves Him Doubtful For Vikings Vs. Eagles
“He’s still having trouble with the initial test,” head coach Leslie Frazier said, “which leads you to believe it’s going to be very, very difficult (Monday) to do anything other than where he is right now.”
All players must pass certain tests in order to be cleared after suffering a concussion. The Vikings have decided against placing Favre on IR though I suppose that could change if they determine he can't play in the final two weeks. Joe Webb replaced him when he went down last week with Tarvaris Jackson on injured reserve.
This is the second time the Vikings have been able to buy a little extra time while determining Favre’s status. The Vikings were forced out of the Metrodome two weeks ago and again last week when they hosted a game at TCF Bank Stadium.
