The Monday Night Football showdown between the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons opened with a pair of three-and-outs. These offenses have been efficient this season, and neither defense has been especially dominant, so don’t expect that trend to continue for much longer.
Saints Vs. Falcons: Monday Night Football Scoreless In First Quarter
On their second drive the Saints gained a first down on a 14-yard completion to Devery Henderson before the Falcons forced another punt.
The Falcons have been blitzing Drew Brees hard, forcing a dump-off on each third down. New Orleans opted to rush three on its first defensive series, getting a little pressure on Matt Ryan while tightening his throwing lanes and tipping one of his passes at the line of scrimmage.
Saints RB Reggie Bush landed awkwardly on a punt return. Falcons WR Eric Weems dragged him down by his shoulders, and Bush seemed to land near his neck. He walked off the field, but appeared to express discomfort. He should be OK to return.
