The typically turnover-free Atlanta Falcons made a serious error, and the New Orleans Saints were able to take advantage. Falcons center Todd McClure skipped a shotgun snap along the ground, giving LB Jonathan Vilma the opportunity to make an easy fumble recovery.

The Saints offense produced its best drive yet, employing the hurry-up and working RB Pierre Thomas on consecutive plays. After five snaps and 34 yards, Thomas shot untouched two yards into the end zone.
The Falcons offense isn’t designed to play from behind, but is capable of burning clock while putting together scoring drives. Their next drive featured Michael Turner’s first breakout run of the night and a scoring dart from Matt Ryan to Roddy White to complete a 78-yard trip.
Drew Brees has completed 13 of 16 passes for 76 yards, nearing the pace he had going in the early quarters of the last game between these teams.
