The game should be 14-10, at the very least. I mean, the Falcons opened the second half with a heck of a drive as Matt Ryan drove them all the way from their own 20 to the Saints’ one-yard line. Once again, the typically turnover-free Atlanta Falcons went atypical when Michael Turner fumbled at the one and handed the ball over to the Saints.
Saints Vs. Falcons: Atlanta Grabs Pick-Six From Brees For Early 4th Quarter Lead
From there, the quarter turned into a back-and-forth battle of wills as both defenses bent but never broke. Each team would punt twice in the quarter and it would end the way it started, 10-7.
The fourth quarter started the same way it had been for the Saints in the third. Deep in their territory, Drew Brees tried to open things up and get the ball down field. Unfortunately, he did that and it ended up in the hands of Falcon DB Chauncey Davis, who returned it for a touchdown.
It’s now 14-10 Falcons early in the fourth quarter and the Saints are starting to get a little desperate. The only big play they’ve been able to generate on offense all half has been for the Falcons. They’ll need to switch that around real quick if they want to take the lead back.
