Saints Vs. Falcons: Atlanta’s Loss Just A Small Bump In The Road

The Atlanta Falcons couldn't top the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football in a defensive battle that ended with the score 17-14. Drew Brees and Co. drove the length of the field late in the fourth quarter to secure the lead and the win. The Falcons now need to win next week to wrap up the NFC South and the top seed in the NFC.

But that's not a reason for anyone to panic, SB Nation's The Falcoholic says. The Falcons need to simply beat the Panthers, the NFL's worst team, to maintain their status as the top NFC team heading into the playoffs.

The Falcons are going to beat the Panthers.

With that in mind, this loss is little more than terrifyingly ugly roadblock on Success Street, which itself runs into the intersection of Playoff Parkway. The Falcons are still headed to the post-season and will likely get another shot at the Saints. Nobody panic.

The Falcoholic is right. In the grand scheme of things this may not be a big deal but it is important to note the Falcons have played the Eagles and Saints -- both NFC playoff contenders -- and lost to them both. The Falcons are a very good team but they're not invincible, even at home, as the Saints proved.
