The one-time “Mr. Tuesday Night,” Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick, has just been stripped of his nickname. Minnesota Vikings DB Antoine Winfield knocked the ball out of Vick’s hands in the backfield, then hustled to pick up the ball and race 45 yards for Minnesota’s first score. Winfield has now sacked Vick twice.
Vikings Vs. Eagles: Michael Vick Loses Tuesday Night Football Mojo, Fumble Return Ties It
Earlier in the dismal second quarter, Vick threw one arm-punt interception and two should’ve-been interceptions, one of which bounced around in former Eagle Lito Sheppard’s hands like a Plinko chip. Philly fans were amused. Vick has 124 total yards.
Vikings RB Adrian Peterson has been running strong despite losing his first fumble of the year, when an Eagles defender sort of accidentally kicked the ball out as Peterson levitated above the turf. “All Day” (“All Tuesday Night”) has 52 yards on eight carries, including a 23-yarder.
Young fellow Joe Webb has played all right tonight, considering it’s a Tuesday and all. He’s completed nine of 15 for 71 yards and run twice for 14, and has at least avoided turnovers.
