Tuesday Night Football has been shocking, to say the least. It looked, for a moment, like the Philadelphia Eagles would crawl back into the game and take control down the stretch after Michael Vick pranced into the end zone to make it a one-score game. Joe Webb, Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings had other plans.
Vikings Vs. Eagles: Adrian Peterson, Joe Webb Pad Minnesota Lead
Needing to respond, the Vikings did just that. The drive started on a good note after Philadelphia kicker David Akers sent the kickoff out of bounds, gifting the Vikings great field position. From there, Webb went to work, converting two crucial third downs to keep the drive alive. The second conversion was his most impressive as he found Percy Harvin for 19 yards on 3rd and 11.
Adrian Peterson took over from there, breaking a 27-yard run to set the Vikings up with first and goal at the one. On the next play, Peterson finished the drive, plunging into the end zone from one yard out. On the day, the Vikings workhorse has 112 yards and a touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, the Vikings lead the Eagles, 24-14.
