Luck’s decision could cause a ripple effect in the draft if he does decide to stay at Stanford for another year. ESPN’s Todd McShay has said he has been told by seven people that Luck is leaning toward staying, but who really knows what Luck is thinking at this point. Luck’s decision could hinge on whether or not Jim Harbaugh is still in Palo Alto or coaching somewhere else next year.

Perhaps the most important predictions as we look at the 2011 NFL draft order are where the quarterbacks land. It appears Andrew Luck will be the top quarterback taken followed in some order by Ryan Mallett and Cam Newton (and possibly Blaine Gabbert). As for the Seahawks, they’re win means the lowest they can draft is No. 21st. Had they lost, they were looking at a No. 8 slot. There’s sure to be a lot of detractors out there who think Seattle would have been better off losing, but that’s a debate for a later time.
Big winners alo include Tennessee, Dallas, Washington, Houston, Minnesota, Detroit and Miami who all move up a spot thanks to the Seahawks win.

The 2011 NFL Draft order is just about set. The St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks will decide tonight which team will be picking in the twenties and which will pick in the teens. Playoff teams will pick from No. 21 on.
Playoff teams won’t be officially set in the draft order until teams start getting eliminated. The Super Bowl winner will pick No. 32, and the Super Bowl loser will pick No. 31. Teams that don’t reach the Super Bowl will pick in the spots listed below.

The Cincinnati Bengals played the Baltimore Ravens close, but came up short while fumbling away a potential game-winning drive. As a result they’ll finish 4-12 on the year, tying them with the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo didn’t put up much of a fight against the New York Jets, losing 38-7.
With the 2-14 Carolina Panthers holding down the No. 1 pick, Bengals and Bills front office personnel will keep an eye on the 4-11 Denver Broncos game against the San Diego Chargers at 4:15. A Broncos win would move both the Bengals and Bills into the top three.

With Carolina’s spot, you have to assume QB Andrew Luck from Stanford is in play, even if they spent a second round pick on QB Jimmy Clausen last year. Auburn’s Nick Fairley and Georgia’s A.J. Green are also candidates at the top of the draft.
Arizona is currently picking fifth and the 49ers sixth and they play this weekend so there will be some change there.
