The Atlanta Falcons have done it again, coming back from ten down in the fourth to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was a sloppy game on wet and shredded turf, with 157 combined penalty yards, three total turnovers, and post-whistle chipping and jawing on just about every drive.
NFL Week 13 Scores And Results: Falcons Squeeze Past Bucs, 28-24
Neither quarterback played exceptionally, with both Josh Freeman and Matt Ryan completing 50 percent, turning the ball over, and averaging fewer than six yards per pass. Both featured running backs defined the game for their offenses, with Legarrette Blount’s 103 yards outshining Michael Turner’s 88.
Two Ryan interceptions, to Sean Jones and Cory Lynch, helped put Atlanta in its usual fourth-quarter hole, but a tumbling pick by Brent Grimes sealed the game for the Falcons with two minutes to go.
The 10-2 Falcons get the Carolina Panthers next. The 7-5 Bucs taken on the Washington Redskins.
