In what was hyped as the biggest game of either team’s season, the New York Jets and New England Patriots played one of the biggest regular season games in recent memory on Monday night. Rex Ryan And New York Jets React To Monday Night’s Terrible, Terrible, Terrible Loss
Courtesy of the New York Daily News, see if you can guess which Jets players and coaches said each of the following.
- A) “It’s the biggest butt-whuppin’ I’ve ever taken in my career. Clearly, we got our butts kicked. We got outcoached and outplayed.”
- B) “There’s a lot of reasons why it happened. Take your pick.”
- C) “You never imagine this. This was a good old-fashioned butt-kicking.”D) “You’re kind of like shell-shocked. Everything just kind of snowballed. Everything just happened so fast.”
- E) “It’s not the end of the world. You have to embrace (the loss) and don’t pretend it didn’t happen. Look the beast in the eye. If you blink, you have a problem. If you don’t blink, then you can move on.”
- F) “This humble pie tastes like a car tire and it goes down like peanut butter.”
ANSWERS: A) Head Coach Rex Ryan B) LB Bart Scott C) QB Mark Sanchez D) OL Damien Woody E) Trevor Pryce F) Sione Pouha ... And, “It tastes like a tire,” well... That’s clearly got to be the winner, right? I mean, they’re all losers today, but hats off to Sione Pouha, who could at least lose with the best sense of humor. And jokes aside, if you put peanut butter on a tire, Rex Ryan would almost certainly try to it.
Now let’s hope Mike Westhoff can dust off this speech today:
