NFL Week 3, Titans Vs. Giants: First Quarter A Defensive Affair, Titans Lead Giants 3-0

The Giants and Titans combined for 150 yards in the first quarter but only managed three points. Eli Manning found himself the victim of his wide receivers' hands as Hakeem Nicks was not able to secure a pass. Jason McCourty picked off the pass and the ensuing drive set up Rob Bironas, who slotted home a 48 yard field goal.

Later in the quarter Manning fought his way out of pressure, escaping a sack but forcing a throw into heavy coverage in the endzone. Sen'Derrick Marks picked off the weak toss and the Titans once again went on the offensive after a Giants turnover. The Giants defense held firm and the Titans were forced to punt.
