In a day of mistakes by the Giants, the third quarter piled even more on the Giants.
NFL Week 3, Titans Vs. Giants: Fumble Stops Giants Short Of Endzone, Titans Still Lead 19-10
Going into the half tied 10-10 was almost a win for the Giants after Eli Manning threw two interceptions. Ahmad Bradshaw caused more problems by chop blocking in the endzone, which resulted in a safety. The Titans, then up 12-10, used the ensuing safety punt to begin with the ball at the 50. Behind a strong throwing drive by Vince Young, the Titans increased their lead to 9 on the back of a 13 yard Vince Young touchdown to Kenny Britt.
As if it couldn’t get any worse for the Giants, the ensuing drive was going well for the Giants. Well until Bradshaw cost himself the possibility of a touch done by fumbling the ball on the 5 yard line. Up until the fumble Bradshaw had accounted for 48 yards of the Giants drive. The Titans were not able to score off of the fumble as the Giants defense forced a punt.
To cap off a disastrous third quarter, Lawrence Tynes missed a field goal.
