Of Wes Welker’s Foot Press Conference, Rex Ryan Says: ‘I Can Take It’

After Wes Welker's highly publicized, foot-themed press conference Thursday afternoon, Jets coach Rex Ryan was asked Friday if he had any response to Welker's not-so-subtle allusions to his personal life.
↵“I can take it,” he said. “I’m not going to comment on it, but I can take it.”
↵He told reporters that “anything goes” in the Patriots-Jets rivalry, but unlike earlier in the week, he’s remaining focus on his own team this time around. As he said (via USA Today):
↵↵“Right now my comments are just about the Jets and that’s what we’re focused on. You would have to ask them about that.”
↵↵And even if he didn’t address Welker’s press conference specifically, it’s nice to know that Rex isn’t sweating the jokes from the other side. Even with the media holding his feet to the fire and all the awkwardness of the situation afoot, Rex Ryan’s not one to tiptoe around and get happy feet, sidestepping the tough questions.
