VIDEO: T.J. Houshmandzadeh’s Drop Helps End Ravens’ Season, Complete Steelers’ Comeback

Despite blowing a 21-7 lead and allowing 24 second half points to the Steelers, the Ravens still had a chance to send their divisional round game to overtime, triggering the new overtime rules for the NFL playoffs for the first time. Then, T.J. Houshmandzadeh dropped the ball — literally.

Houshmandzadeh's drop wasn't the only bad play of that series for the Ravens, and there were a slew of other errors that will leave the Ravens and their fans asking "What if?" tonight, tomorrow, and in the future. But Houshmandzadeh ran a great route, getting open past the sticks, and Joe Flacco made a rare great throw on the afternoon on that fourth quarter fourth down, putting the ball on Houshmandzadeh's numbers. His receiver just couldn't haul in the catch.

↵Such is life in the NFL playoffs, where one moment and one lapse can leave people wondering what could have been for another eight months. And, moreover, such is life in the heated Steelers-Ravens rivalry, where every game seems to have a moment like this.
