New York Jets WR Braylon Edwards scored on a 15-yard pass from QB Mark Sanchez, dragging two New England Patriots defenders into the end zone. The score was the second postseason touchdown of Edwards’ career.
Braylon Edwards Scores To Extend Jets Lead Over Patriots Just Before Halftime
The Jets have outgained the Pats at the halfway mark, 157 to 125. Sanchez has thrown for more yards, touchdowns, and completions in as many attempts as Pats QB Tom Brady, and he’s done it without throwing a pick too. Earlier Brady threw his first interception in many weeks. New York’s defense has swarmed Brady, sacking him three times.
Just before Edwards’ touchdown, the Pats attempted a fake punt that went sideways. Patrick Chung, special teams hero, fielded a direct snap while taking his eyes off the ball to monitor New York’s penetration. He picked the ball up and reversed field, dropped behind the line to give away tons of field position.
