Jets Vs. Steelers: Rex Ryan Prepares For ‘Mission Impossible’ In AFC Championship Game

The New York Jets were nine point underdogs against the New England Patriots in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs but they surprised everyone -- except themselves -- by beating New England to advance to the AFC Championship game. They will now travel to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan said after Sunday’s game that “Mission Impossible” continues.

"On to Round Three -- mission impossible," Rex Ryan crowed. "We came here for a reason. Maybe everyone else didn't believe us, but we believed."

Why is this considered Mission Impossible? Think about who they beat to get here. They took down two of the three most successful NFL teams in the last decade beating the Colts and Patriots. That also includes the two greatest quarterbacks of our generation in Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.

Now the Jets face the NFL’s top ranked defense and a quarterback who isn’t too shabby in his own right in Ben Roethlisberger. Indeed it’s Mission Impossible but something tells me the Jets will use that to their advantage.

Next Sunday night on CBS, it’ll be Jets vs. Steelers with a Super Bowl spot on the line. Check out Gang Green Nation and Behind The Steel Curtain for more on the game.
