The NFL Players Association needs our help, y’all. I looked them up at nfllockout.com, and they seem to be in a real pickle:
As NFL Lockout Looms, NFLPA Starts ‘Let Us Play’ Twitter Petition
It appears as though the NFL is plotting to literally place a literal lock on the field entrance. Hopefully they can find an entrance through another walkway, because that lock is enormous. In the meantime, the NFLPA has declared today to be #LETUSPLAY day. Here is how you, the fan, can get off your lazy duff and fix everything forever:
- Donate your Facebook status by posting: "Today is LET US PLAY Day. Help NFL Players and Fans Block the Lockout. Visit NFLLockout.com and sign the Petition."
- Tweet the following: "Today is #LETUSPLAY Day. Help #NFL Players & Fans #BlocktheLockout. Visit NFLLockout.com and sign the Petition."
Over at Shutdown Corner, MJD rightly takes issue with the idea that the fans hold responsibility in this matter.
You know that gigantic pile of money you guys can’t decide how to divide? That came from us. That was us, doing our part. It is not our part to take a side in your petty battle over who gets to roll around in more of that money.
This is not me taking a side in the lockout. This is me resenting even being asked to take a side.Perfectly put, and I think that... okay, sorry, I’m still concerned about that giant lock. Why is it so large? The key must be two feet tall!
