LaMarr Woodley Says Steelers Have To Hit Jets QB Mark Sanchez Hard

The Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets will meet in the AFC Championship game on Sunday in a game that most folks are looking at as a defensive battle. Both teams rank in the top six in the NFL in defense and both have strong defensive reputations.

Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley joined The Colin Cowherd Show this week talking about Jets QB Mark Sanchez and what the Steelers defense can do to stop him.

“I mean, he’s been developing. He’s been getting better week in and week out. Getting the ball to his receivers, you know, he played a good game on Sunday. He’s a quarterback who can move around in the pocket so he’s just not going to stand back there and take a hit. So I just think we have to do a good job getting pressure on him, and when we get back there we’ve got to hit him hard.”

Woodley said “that’s what the Pittsburgh Steelers do best” when asked about the importance of pressuring Sanchez. He also noted S Troy Polamalu will be back this time around after the Jets beat the Steelers 22-17 during the regular season.
