Patriots Snap Streak, Commit First Turnover Since November On Danny Woodhead Fumble

One of the more amazing streaks of the 2010 NFL season was rooted in the Patriots' incredible ball security. New England committed no turnovers in its seven games after a Nov. 7 loss to the Browns, setting a new NFL record for consecutive games without a turnover.

But that streak is over now: Danny Woodhead's fumble today against the Dolphins was the Patriots' first turnover in their last 29 quarters.

It doesn't change much about the Patriots' season, though. They're locked into the AFC's No. 1 seed no matter what they do today, Tom Brady's tremendous passes-without-an-interception streak is still alive, and the team will still set a new NFL record for fewest turnovers in a season if it can avoid three more against the Dolphins. Woodhead's fumble gives them 10 on the year; the NFL record is 13, shared by the 2008 Dolphins and Giants.
