Yet another scoreless quarter ends for the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, this time with the teams still tied at 7-7.
Eagles Vs. Cowboys: Third Quarter Ends As The First Quarter Did, Scoreless
Running backs Jerome Harrison (Eagles) and Felix Jones (Cowboys) have made the game interesting in at least one aspect, rushing. Jones, however, was the only one of the two to have a decent third quarter. Carrrying the ball four times, Jones gained 27 yards on the ground.
Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb and Dallas rookie quarterback Stephen McGee combined for insignificant third quarters. For Kolb it was a quarter of no noticeable mistakes and for McGee it wasn't one to remember or one to forget. Tight end Clay Harbor did not help out Kolb's cause by dropping a wide open pass in the middle of the quarter.
Kolb had fumbled the ball to give up a touchdown to the Cowboys defense. DeMarcus Ware, the Cowboys Pro Bowl defensive end, took the fumble in for a 17-yard touchdown. Earlier in the second quarter Kolb had thrown a touchdown pass to rookie wide receiver Chad Hall to put the Eagles up 7-0.
That touchdown gave the Eagles a new franchise record for points scored for a third consecutive season.
