The Green Bay Packers have clinched the No. 6 seed in the NFC’s playoff bracket, beating the Chicago Bears 10-3 in a tough road win. Green Bay’s offense struggled to outperform Chicago’s until the fourth quarter, when they scored on consecutive drives and held on late.
Bears Vs. Packers: NFL Playoff Picture All But Set In NFC, Green Bay Wins, 10-3
The Bears left their starters in for the entire game, clearly interested in preventing their division rivals from reaching the postseason. Chicago still has the NFC’s No. 2 seed and a first-round bye.
Chicago had a chance to tie the game up on their final drive, and had driven near the red zone, when an overthrow by QB Jay Cutler found DB Nick Collins to end it. Offensive stars of the day include Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (215 yards, one touchdown, one pick) and WR Greg Jennings (97 yards, two near-touchdowns), and Bears RB Matt Forte (123 total yards).
The Packers will travel to play the Philadelphia Eagles at some point next weekend, while the Bears will get the highest-seeded wild card round-winner.
