Win Or Lose Against Jets, Steelers Fans Say Season Is A Success

We’re used to seeing the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship game but this year feels a little different because of all the off-the-field distractions that plagued the Steelers early in the year. Because of that, SB Nation’s Behind The Steel Curtain writes that Steelers fans need to sit back and smell the roses for at least a minute.

And while it is appropriate for the team to, if anything, intensify their game faces and concentration as the prize comes closer to their grasp, at some point, as fans we do ourselves a disservice if we don't just kick back and enjoy the ride. In my humble opinion we have reached that point. It would still be a rather wrenching disappointment to come this far and not claim the prize, but there is no way that this season could be labeled any other way (from a fan's perspective) as a success.

Of course if they lose on Sunday, Steelers fans will be disappointed and most likely forget that the season was a success. When you get this close to tasting the prize, it’ll be a disappointment if you don’t get it.

The Steelers are favored to win this game so in theory they should but the Jets have been ‘dogs the last two games and come away with a victory so the underdog role is nothing new to them.

Check out Behind The Steel Curtain for more on the game.
