Early in the AFC Championship Game, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez picked his nose and wiped it on the jacket of a fellow member of the Jets sideline, Mark Brunell.

That’s entirely in character for Sanchez, who’s been revealed as a prankster who doesn’t take himself too seriously since at least his star turn as the joker of the Jets’ Hard Knocks series last summer. Do we care, though?
I’d say there are four major schools of thought on incidents such as these.
One: “Will athletes ever learn that their every move on a field of play can be picked up by camera? Gosh, be ROLE MODELS, will you?”
Two: “EL-OH-EL, look at the overgrown kid picking his nose, EWWWW!”
Three: “Typical Sanchez. That guy is a HOOT. J-E-T-S PHLEGM PHLEGM PHLEGM!”
Four: “Why must the CBS cameras intrude on the players in their moments of privacy? CAN’T A MAN PICK IT AND FLICK IT IN PEACE ANYMORE?”
You may choose your own reaction. I don’t care, but the second grader in me that thinks it’s kind of funny, and the eighth grader in me finds it hilarious that this might be Mark Brunell’s greatest contribution to this year’s Jets.
