VIDEO: Rashard Mendenhall Celebrates All Over Ben Roethlisberger’s Backside

There has never been a more sharp-thinking late-game play than the one Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall conducted upon QB Ben Roethlisberger at the conclusion of the AFC Championship Game. After the quarterback took the snap and downed the ball to clinch a Super Bowl berth, he crumpled to the ground, leaving his vulnerable flanks exposed.

Mendenhall wisely fell on his teammate to prevent a potential fumble or injury, remembering after a brief delay to keep his legs moving, because this is football, and it’s important to always keep your legs and midsection moving as suggestively as possible:

Roethlisberger did suffer a hip injury at one point in the game, so clearly his helpful running back was just trying to apply soothing pressure to the affliction. But yeah what in the world is going on there, Steel City? Will Mendenhall now call a vague press conference and apologize bemulletedly?
