2011 Super Bowl: Christina Aguilera To Sing National Anthem Before Game

Before the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers battle in Dallas for Super Bowl XLV, Christina Aguilera will take to the field to sing the National Anthem. The five-time Grammy winner has been practicing for this moment for awhile:

“I have been performing the Anthem since I was seven years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true,” Aguilera said. “I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event.”

Aguilera’s pregame performance joins the line-up of Black Eyed Peas, who will show off their marginal talents during the Super Bowl XLV halftime show. Remember: There are strict rules about who the NFL can invite to perform during Super Bowls now. You must be either a formerly relevant, once iconic band from the 60s/70s, or be a wildly popular, yet untalented current top 40 act.

It should be interesting to see where Vegas sets the over/under on Aguilera’s version of the Anthem. It’ll probably be somewhere right at two minutes.
