2011 Super Bowl: Green Bay Packers Can Choose Between Green And White Jerseys

As the Super Bowl XLV home team, the NFC champion Green Bay Packers get to choose whether to wear their traditional home green jerseys or their road whites. If they go with green, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be in white tops, which would at least blunt (…) some of the momentum Wiz Khalifa’s “Black & Yellow” has built up for Pittsburgh’s two primary colors.

Green Bay could choose to stick with white, as they’re one of the first NFC teams to make a Super Bowl by winning three straight road games in the postseason. The white jerseys have served them well in wins over Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Chicago, while they went 7-1 in their home greens. That only loss came in overtime, too.

The Packers wore white in Super Bowl II and Super Bowl XXXII, and green in I and XXXI, so there’s no particular championship game tradition to uphold here.
