Seahawks Vs. Saints: Julius Jones Scores TD Against Former Team, But Matt Hasselbeck Answers Back

The Saints scored against the Seahawks three times in their first three drives to improve their lead to 17-7. Drew Brees drove his team 83 yards downfield for a touchdown. The score currently stands: Saints 17, Seahawks 14.
New Orleans started on its own 17-yard line, and Brees immediately set to work with passes of 11 and 12 yards to Marques Colston. After moving the line of scrimmage into Seahawks territory, Brees found tight end Jeremy Shockey for a 19-yard pass.
The touchdown was scored by Julius Jones, who was cut by the Seahawks early in the season. Seattle’s forced another third-down situation, but gave up a touchdown for the second consecutive time.
Again, though, the Seahawks’ offense answered back. Matt Hasselbeck’s offense needed only six plays to drive 70 yards for a touchdown of their own. Hasselbeck made a spectacular throw to tight end Cameron Morrah, who ran for a 39-yard gain, and on the next play John Carlson caught his second touchdown pass of the game.
At this point, this game is a shoot-out, and the 7-9 Seahawks are showing the world champion Saints that they have every intention of winning this game. Early in the second quarter, the Saints have possession and the lead, 17-14.
