It’s all over in Kansas City, where the Ravens left the Chiefs black and blue.
NFL Playoffs, Ravens Vs. Chiefs: Baltimore Punishes Kansas City, 30-7
The Ravens forced five Chiefs turnovers and blanked Kansas City in the second half, turning a close game into a 30-7 blowout with 27 unanswered points.
Joe Flacco threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Ray Rice added 99 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown, and Todd Heap caught 10 passes for 108 yards.
The Ravens defense recovered from early struggles to contain Jamaal Charles, who scored the first rushing touchdown of more than 30 yards against the Ravens since 2005 with a 41-yard run in the first quarter. Charles finished with 82 yards on nine carries, and fumbled once.
Matt Cassel was forced to throw after the Chiefs fell well behind, and wasn’t able to do much against the Ravens. He completed just nine of 18 passes, and threw three interceptions.
With the win, Baltimore moves on to play familiar AFC North foe Pittsburgh. It will be the third time the Ravens and Steelers have met this season.
