Miles Austin Injury: Cowboys Receiver Returns To Practice

The Dallas Cowboys got some welcome news during their bye week. Wide receiver Miles Austin returned to practice after missing the Cowboys’ last two games, including a three-point loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 4.

Austin aggravated a hamstring injury, one that bothered him in the preseason, in the Cowboys’ Week 2 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. According to the report from the Cowboys, Austin mostly just rested the muscle during his time on the shelf.

Through two games, Austin had 14 catches for 233 yards and four touchdowns. Those numbers still lead all Dallas wide receivers, and only tight end Jason Witten has more catches and receiving yards.

Austin’s return could not come at a better time for Dallas. The Tony Romo media circus went into a frenzy after the Cowboys quarterback threw two interceptions that Detroit returned for touchdowns in his last outing. The Cowboys travel to New England in Week 6, and Romo will have Austin, Witten and Dez Bryant against one of the league’s weakest pass defenses.
