If there were any illusions about the Indianapolis Colts righting the ship before the end of the year, those probably disappeared with their loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. So it makes sense that Jim Irsay's now openly talking about what the Colts might do with the no. 1 pick.
Jim Irsay Hears What You’re Saying About The Colts And Andrew Luck
Over at Yahoo! Sports, Jim Irsay stops short of mentioning Andrew Luck by name--which would’ve earned him a fine--but when asked about the chance about taking Andrew Luck, Irsay was honest:
“Guys like that come along so rarely,” Irsay said, referring to Manning and what many are projecting of Luck. ... “Even if that means that guy sits for three or four years, you’d certainly think about taking him … you see what Green Bay did with [Brett] Favre and [Aaron] Rodgers and you’d like to be able to do the same thing.”
Every cloud has a silver lining, Colts fans.
And even if the Colts lose their way into the best quarterback prospect in a generation, there's a silver lining for the Colts haters, too. Because good GOD. Watching that franchise slowly turn its back on Peyton Manning will be so spectacularly awkward, it's almost makes it worth it to let Indianapolis have the NFL's Next Big Superstar.
