The NFL has suspended New York Giants defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy for undisclosed reasons.


The reason for the suspension is currently unknown. The specific terms of the suspension are unknown, though a source says it will last for “less than a year.”
The 31-year-old was a first-round pick of the St. Louis Rams in the 2003 NFL Draft out of Penn State. He joined the Giants this season after stints with the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Minnesota Vikings. Kennedy has played in limited action this season alongside starters Chris Canty and Linval Joseph.
He has four tackles in five games this year.
The Giants were already thin at DT, having lost second-round pick Marvin Austin to a torn pectoral muscle in the preseason.They'll likely need to sign a free agent now to fill the space.
