The Atlanta Falcons went through Wednesday's practice without rookie Julio Jones and they won't see him on Sunday when they play the Carolina Panthers. Head coach Mike Smith confirmed at his Wednesday press conference that Jones will miss Week 6 due to a hamstring injury. Smith adds that Jones is working with the Falcons training staff and is already ahead of schedule.
Julio Jones Injury: Falcons WR Ruled Out Week 6 Vs. Panthers
Jones suffered the injury last week against the Green Bay Packers, apparently tweaking his hamstring on a play in which he wasn't targeted.
Anytime you lose a receiver of his caliber, it's tough to replace him. Harry Douglas can expect to see some more snaps as can Kerry Meier.
Jones leads all rookies through five games with 25 receptions, but has yet to score a touchdown. The Falcons offense has been so-so all season and losing Jones certainly won’t help things.
