The NFL has handed out its layers of the week awards and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson stand tall following their dominating performances. Taking home the AFC offensive player of the week award, Roethlisberger battled an injured foot to throw five touchdown passes in the Steelers' 38-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Peterson garnered the NFC offensive player of the week award by scoring three first-quarter touchdowns and gaining 122 yards on the ground, all en route to the Vikings' first victory of the season.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson led their respective teams to victory on Sunday and were rewarded with weekly offensive player of the week awards.
On the other side of the ball, Buffalo Bills safety George Wilson tallied 11 tackles, defended three passes, picked off a ball and had one quarterback hit to take home AFC defensive player of the week award. In the NFC, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis put 12 total tackles on the stat sheet and led the defense to a 48-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
On special teams, Oakland Raiders kicked Sebastian Janikowski kicked three field goals of 50 yards or more in the team's 25-20 victory over the Houston Texans. Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby connected on all four of his field goal attempts, making a long of 56 yards.
