Of Course Rex Ryan Still Thinks The Jets Are Super Bowl-Bound
The Jets are 2-3, you say? They’ve lost three straight games and looked terribly mediocre the last few weeks? Well, Rex Ryan is still Rex Ryan, and he wouldn’t be Rex Ryan if he wasn’t out here making ridiculous predictions.
“Facts are facts,” he said when reporters asked him whether the Jets’ slow start tempers expectations. “We have lost three games in a row. There’s no question about that. ... Unfortunately, this is my third year in a row, my first year we actually had two three-game losing streaks so I know what it feels like. But I also know we can get out of this. We have to this week. We know Miami is in a similar situation that we are. Both of us thought we’d have better records at this point.”
He actually makes a lot of sense there.
Then, when asked whether his Super Bowl prediction from February could still come true: “I can guarantee you we’re going to chase it, that’s for sure. Do I think we’ll win it? Yeah, absolutely.”
Is this any different than all the other times Rex has predicted a Super Bowl? Of course not. But it’s proof that to see he’ll never, ever change. And it’s why you kinda have to love Rex and the Jets.
