In this week's edition of the world's most shocking news, Wes Welker expressed his desire to remain a Patriot after his contract expires this offseason to Dallas-area media who must be baffled by the thought of receivers loving playing with their quarterback. Welker:
Wes Welker’s Contract Up This Year, Hopes To Remain With Patriots
Wes Welker shook the football world to the core Thursday when he bravely declared he would like to remain with Patriots after his contract runs out this offseason. Can’t make this stuff up.

“Well, of course I want to stay here, but as of right now, I don’t really think about it ... I think we have a great owner and great coaches and they have put together a model for us to go out there and succeed. Anytime you’re a part of that, it’s a pretty special thing.”
When probed with the tough question of if he would still be putting up bonkers numbers if Tom Brady weren't his quarterback, Welker responded, "there's no way I would." Welker is on pace to break the single-season records for receptions and receiving yards after demolishing what they said was the unbreakable record last year. I'm referring, of course, to the record for foot-fetish puns in a press conference.
