Darrelle Revis shined for the Jets, returning an interception 100 yards for a touchdown to help his team end a three-game losing streak with a 24-6 win against the Dolphins on Monday night.
Jets Vs. Dolphins: Brandon Marshall Talked Big, Darrelle Revis Played Bigger
Matt Moore targeted Marshall three times in the end zone, and all three times Revis’ defense was key in preventing Marshall from scoring, forcing two drops (watch drop No. 1, and drop No. 2) before eventually snagging an interception and returning it 100 yards for a touchdown. Revis spoke about his pick six after the game. From Mike Vaccaro of the New York Post:
Marshall certainly made his share of big plays -- his six catches and 109 yards were easily the most of any player in the game -- but he couldn’t make them when they counted. In addition to being shut out of the end zone, he also dropped a critical third-down catch early in the fourth quarter when Miami still trailed by only two scores that all but killed Miami’s slim chances for a comeback.

Prior to Bush’s injury, the Dolphins were going with a fairly even split as they were exchanging touches for much of the first half. Given the Dolphins existing offensive woes with new quarterback Matt Moore, that is not a formula for a successful fantasy running back option. Thomas was looking better heading into the game but likely moved into a split due to his nagging hamstring injury.

Unfortunately for the Dolphins, Brandon Marshall then dropped a touchdown pass two plays later. The ball simply just went right through his hands, forcing the Dolphins to settle for yet another field goal, cutting the Jets lead 7-6. That’s 14 points Marshall has let slip through his hands so far.

The pick came at the worst time for the Dolphins, who were poised to take over the game. Before the pick, Miami had just struck first with a field goal and then recovered the ensuing kickoff.

But Revis did a nice job denying the Dolphins star receiver in the end zone on third down, holding MIami to three points. He’ll have to continue to fight off Marshall if the Jets want to win this game. Here’s the video of that pass defense:
