Antonio Gates Status Update: Gates Foot Likely Keeps Him Out

San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates has been dealing with a foot injury all season that has severely limited what he's been able to do on the football field. Just about the only thing Gates has yet to do is... not play. It's looking very likely that Gates will miss the Chargers match up Sunday with the Miami Dolphins. "This is the only solution I haven't tried yet," Gates said Wednesday. "I've done whatever it is you can imagine to help this problem. At this point, rest is the only thing that's left to try and get this thing healed."

In the two games Gates has played in this season, he has just 8 receptions for 74 yards, all in the first game. If Gates plays, which is unlikely, you shouldn’t expect much if any production from him.
