Lee Evans Status Update: Ravens Receiver Ruled Out Vs. Jets

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Lee Evans will not start on Sunday against the New York Jets. Evans missed last weeks game against the St. Louis Rams with his ankle injury and is not expected back in the line up until after the Ravens week 5 bye. Evans has played in just two games since being traded to the Ravens. He has just 2 receptions for 45 yards.

In place of Evans, rookie Torrey Smith looks to get the start once again. Smith exploded last week for 5 catches with 153 yards and 3 touchdowns. Smith caught three long touchdown passes from Joe Flacco and had another 10 yards rushing. It's unlikely Smith will give that kind of production against the New York Jets, but Smith does possess that big play potential at the receiver position, something the Ravens offense has lacked.
