After a narrow loss on the road last week, the Houston Texans will look to rebound at home this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's a tall order, a team that is still looking for its first ever playoff appearance against last year's AFC champs.
Steelers Vs. Texans: Game Time, TV Schedule, Announcers And More
Houston tries to stay in control of their season, but they face a tough matchup against Pittsburgh’s notorious defense.
The casual observer would never know that the Texans have been without last season's rushing leader Arian Foster for all but a few snaps this season. Ben Tate has more than 300 yards filling in for Foster, and the Texans are one of the league's five best rushing teams thanks to a physical style of play. Foster returns to action this week.
Pittsburgh struggled against the Colts in prime time last week. The offensive line had few answers for the pass rush, and Ben Roethlisberger was sacked three times. He already has four interceptions on the season after throwing just five picks all last season. Despite that, he needs just three more touchdown passes to have 150 in his career.
Offensive struggles aside, the Steelers defense has been its usual stingy self. Dick LeBeau’s pass defense is allowing a league-low average of 164 yards per game average and just 263 total yards per game, second-best in the league. That should make for a great matchup against a Texans team averaging more than 400 yards of offense per game.
