Beanie Wells Injury Update: ‘Barring Something Unforeseen’ Wells Will Play
Fantasy footballers counting on Arizona Cardinals RB Beanie Wells shouldn't count their chickens yet, but it appears he will play, according to head coach Ken Whisenhunt. The Whizzinator said just hours before game time that, "barring something unforeseen," Wells will play, but how much is still uncertain.
“Now, does that mean he’s going to be able to have 30 carries? We’ll see. That’s what you don’t know,” Whisenhunt said.
Cardinals fans are probably more excited than Wells' fantasy owners because fantasy owners at least have someone to back up Wells. The Cardinals really don't have that luxury. Wells' primary backup is LaRod Stephens-Howling, but he's injured, as is rookie Ryan Williams, who's done for the year.
That leaves Chester Taylor — who has been playing since the name Chester was à la mode — as Wells' only legitimate backup. If "something unforeseen" happens, then the Cardinals will have a very difficult time beating the Giants.
