Little was known about the apparent ankle injury that took out Hines Ward when he left during the third quarter of Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals. Luckily for Pittsburgh Steelers fans, the injury appears to be only a sprain. Head coach Mike Tomlin was optimistic afterwards on his receiver's chances to return.
Hines Ward Injury: Steelers WR Expected To Be OK
“We will see where he is as the week goes on,” Tomlin said. “Hines always finds a way to defy logic, if you will, when it comes to injury and so forth. So we will definitely leave a seat on the bus for him.”
Ward, he of 14 years in the league, isn't one to back down from an opportunity to start if he can avoid it. We should find out more before this weekend's game against the New England Patriots.
