Carlos Rogers Wants Longterm Deal From San Francisco 49ers
Playing on a one-year deal, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers is interested in signing a long-term extension.

“If we can get something worked out, that would be great,” Rogers said. “My agent (Todd France) knows that I like what’s going on here. I want to be here. This has been great for me, and I would love to get something worked out for five, six years.”
Rogers spent the first six seasons of his career with the Washington Redskins, who used the ninth overall pick of the 2005 NFL Draft on the former Auburn standout. Rogers recorded 299 tackles and eight interceptions in 78 games over six seasons with the Redskins, including a 2010 season where he was denied unrestricted free agency, playing under a one-year restricted free agent tender worth $1.542 million in base salary.
The Redskins let Rogers hit the free agent market, signing free agent Josh Wilson to a three-year, $13.5 million contract when the lockout was lifted in August. Rogers, 30, signed a one-year, $4.25 million contract with the 49ers a few days later.
Through six games this season, Rogers has 16 tackles and a career-high three interceptions, returning one 31 yards for his first touchdown return since his injury-shortened 2007 season.
