NFL Picks And Predictions Week 8: Chargers Vs. Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs host a pivotal Week 8 divisional matchup with the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football. The Chargers, 4-2, own the first place lead in the AFC West while the Chiefs, now back to .500 at 3-3, have a chance to force a three-way (along with the Oakland Raiders) tie between 4-3 teams for the first time since 1989.

The Chargers are favored in this game by four points but they're not the ones with the momentum. San Diego dropped a Week 7 game to the New York Jets and plenty of people are questioning Philip Rivers' so-so season. The Chiefs, meanwhile, are coming in with three straight wins after starting the season 0-3. They could become the first team since the 2000 Steelers to start 0-3 and win their next four.

The Chargers are the popular pick in the media to win. All of ESPN’s expects picked San Diego to win at Arrowhead Stadium and Peter King of SI.com predicts a 13-point Chiefs loss.

I know, I know. Thirty-three points. Odd, considering Philip Rivers is playing like Marty Domres these days. (Google him, young ‘uns.) I think the Chargers are so ticked off -- at the officials, at their own ineptitude, at clock management, at Norv’s cowlick, at everything -- and are due for an explosion in front of the Arrowheads Monday night.
