Jags Sign WR Mike Thomas To Contract Extension
The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed wide receiver Mike Thomas to a contract extension.
In just his second year, Thomas led the Jaguars in receiving last season with 66 catches, 820 yards and four touchdowns. The 24-year-old Arizona product leads the Jaguars in receiving so far this season with 212 yards and a touchdown on 20 catches.
He was selected in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft.
This is the second contract extension given to a Jaguars player this week, as the Jaguars agreed to an extension with Montell Owens on Tuesday. At over $35 million under the salary cap, the most of any team in the NFL, the Jaguars have plenty of room to give extensions to players they wish to keep for years to come.
