There are unlikely to be two more unlikely 3-1 teams than the San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While neither were expected to be out and out bad at the start of the year, few expected them to have beaten the likes of the Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts (before we knew Peyton Manning was hurt, anyway).
Buccaneers Vs. 49ers: TV Schedule, Game Time, Announcers And More
The Bucs and 49ers come into their Week 5 matchup as two of the most unlikely 3-1 teams in the NFL.
The 49ers’ win over the Eagles last week has to be one of the biggest surprises of the season, especially when you consider it was on the road and they were trailing by 20 points in the second half. Alex Smith had one of the best games of his career, registering a very tidy 291-yard, two-touchdown, no-interception performance.
How the Bucs have gotten here is a bit harder to pinpoint. They are allowing nearly as many points as they score and giving up almost as many yards as they gain. But they’ve found ways to win for three straight weeks and shouldn’t be counted out.
