Mario Williams: Texans OLB Heads To Locker Room

Houston Texans outside linebacker and sack specialist Mario Williams left his team’s game against the Oakland Raiders in the first quarter with an undisclosed injury. Williams walked to the locker room just fine. Speculation is that he may have hit his finger on Oakland quarterback Jason Campbell’s helmet on a sack.

Mario Williams went to the dressing room. It looked like he hit his finger on a helmet when he got his sack.

Williams has been an important part of Houston’s success so far this season. Through four games prior to today’s, he already has four sacks on the season. Many wondered about Williams’ ability to transition into the 3-4 defense run by new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. So far, he has made that transition with no problem.

His sack on Campbell was his fifth of season. No updates pertaining to his status have been supplied by the Texans as of yet. Keep an eye on this situation as the Raiders have already made it a one point game with an early second quarter field goal.
