Patriots Vs. Jets: Wes Welker Tops The 100 Yard Mark Again

New England Patriots wide receiver continued his big season today. Through three quarters Tom Brady’s favorite target has five receptions for 126 yards. This is Welker’s fourth game of the season in which he has topped 100 yards of receiving. The only oddity so far is that Welker has yet to score a touchdown in today’s game against the New York Jets.

The highlight of Welker’s day was a 73-yard catch that was almost a touchdown except for Darrelle Revis running him down and making the tackle inside the ten-yard line.

Welker has been covered by Darrelle Revis most of the day, making his 126 yards that much more impressive. Welker now has 742 receiving yards for the season, just about 100 yards less than he had all of last year. He is currently on pace for more than 2,300 receiving yards. Jerry Rice hold the single-season record for receiving yards with 1,848 yards during the 1995 season.
