NFL Scores Week 10, Broncos Vs. Chiefs: Denver Gets Another Weird Win Under Tim Tebow, 17-7

Tim Tebow led an unorthodox Denver offense to his third win as a starter in 2011. And he did it almost entirely on the ground.

Denver hasn't done very much by the book since the elevation of Tim Tebow to starter. But the Broncos are winning, and Week 10's 17-10 triumph over the Chiefs may have been their weirdest victory yet.

Tebow threw just eight passes on the day, and completed just two, but one went to Eric Decker for a 56-yard touchdown reception. That, and Denver's 54 rushing attempts for 244 yards — this despite injuries to both Willis McGahee and Knowshon Moreno — buoyed an offense that took run-heavy to a new and strange extreme. Tebow ran for 43 yards and a touchdown on the ground, but Lance Ball led Denver with 96 yards on a staggering 30 carries.

But the Chiefs couldn't do much to stop it, and didn't do enough on offense to outscore it. Matt Cassel struggled for Kansas City, with Cassel completing less than half of his passes, and injury relief Tyler Palko only succeeded against a prevent defense.

And the Chiefs’ once-vaunted running game was largely abandoned on Sunday, despite success: no Kansas City runner had more than nine carries, despite the Chiefs averaging over five yards per rushing attempt.

The win moves Denver to 4-5 on the season, and drops the Chiefs to 4-5.
