NFL Scores Week 10: Rams Vs. Browns, Missed Field Goal Decisive In Rams Win

The St. Louis Rams beat the Cleveland Browns today by a single point, 13-12, thanks mostly to defensive and special teams play. This is just the second win of the season for the Rams. A botched snap on a fourth quarter field goal attempt proved to be the deciding play for the Rams.

Though they only managed to score 12 points, quarterback Colt McCoy and fill-in running back Chris Ogbonnaya each accumulated some nice stats against a banged up Rams defense. McCoy, a Texas product, beat his former Red River Rival, former Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford, on the stat sheet. McCoy completed 20 of 27 passes for 218 yards and no interceptions. Ogbonnaya collected 90 rushing yards on 19 carries after struggling over the last two weeks working in place of the injured Peyton Hillis.

Bradford and wide receiver Brandon Lloyd connected for a touchdown pass in the second quarter. It was the only touchdown of the game, for either team. Bradford completed 15 of 26 passes for 155 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Rams running back Steven Jackson reminded viewers why he is still the best player on the Rams offense. Jackson rushed for 128 yards on 27 carries. It was the third week in a row that Jackson broke the 100-yard barrier. Lloyd led all Rams receivers with four catches for 48 yards and a touchdown.

The Rams left the game with an astonishing number of injuries. Tight end Michael Hoomanawanui, cornerback Al Harris, left tackle Rodger Saffold and safety Darian Stewart all left the game with injuries, leaving the Rams perilously thin in the secondary and on the offensive line.

Cleveland hosts the Jacksonville Jaguars next week. St. Louis has a home game against the Seattle Seahawks.
