Patriots Vs. Jets Halftime Score: Tom Brady Touchdown Pass Gives New England Lead

The New England Patriots and New York Jets are locked in what we will call a defensive battle on Sunday Night Football, but both teams luckily eventually put points on the board from the right end zone (example of scoring in the wrong end zone) before halftime. The Patriots lead 13-9 at halftime of a game that once featured a six and a two on the scoreboard.

Tom Brady was able to cap off an awful first half performance from both teams with an 18-yard touchdown pass to tight end Rob Gronkowski with ten seconds left in the half. Brady completed 12 of his 22 passing attempts for 194 yards in the half, but the Gronkowski touchdown was the only one that resulted in points.

The lone touchdown for the Jets in the first half came on a two-yard scamper from Mark Sanchez to give New York a 9-6 lead midway through the second quarter. Sanchez completed the first half with 10 completions for 137 yards, 85 of which went to Santonio Holmes and Plaxico Burress.

Hopefully the last few drives of the first half are indicative of a more exciting second half. Even if it’s Brady throwing left-handed passes out of his own end zone that result in penalty flags, at least points are being put on the scoreboard!
